At work: my copy of Brian Fagan's latest, Beyond the Blue Horizon arrived.

At home: a squishy package in my mailbox, containing two skeins of Tanis Fiber Arts Pink Label Lace Weight ... in "Velvet" and "Stormy" colourways (the latter rather appropriate for the weather in many places east of here today)

Lace weight yarn, in case anybody was wondering, is what things like these are made from (it's also used to make wispy gossamer sweaters). Just for scale, the shawls you've already seen me complete were made from fingering weight ... same stuff socks are usually knitted from ... which is thinner than string but quite a bit thicker than lace weight.
