Just watched the first episode of Anno 1790 (finally) ... that was GOOD!!! Mucho thanks!!! to sealwhiskers for telling me about it. :-) Had to keep stopping and "rewinding" the DVD because the picture and acting kept distracting me from reading the subtitles ... ;p

In a way it reminds me of the Alatriste stories; different place, time, and profession of course, but both tales are made up of a sparse story and deep character with integrity set against a very detailed, corrupt and in-upheaval historical background.

I found the occasional use of French in the dialogue interesting ... must look up the ties between France and Sweden at that time (unless somebody who already has the knowledge would like to enlighten me)
