Middle day of a long weekend

Yesterday, after a couple of loads of laundry and a grocery run before it got too hot/muggy outside, was devoted to reading Charles Stross' The Fuller Memorandum (a wise choice of day since the I'm-not-sleeping-until-I-find-out-how-it-ends thing once again appled).

WOW!!! Just WOW!!! Unlike the reviewer in the link, I enjoy the slow bits ... life DOES run at variable speeds most of the time and I can appreciate a book that reflects that. The revelations and their consequences were masterfully plotted and the whole thing was like my favourite type of British forensic psychology mystery ... you figure out whodunit fairly on, but WHY? is the gripping part of the story.

Want MORE Laundry! I've found the online sequel story, Overtime, so that shall be my treat for later today ... we're supposed to hit a majorly icky-hot temp (with humidity to match), so I should try to accomplish a few exertion-requiring things while I've still got fresh cool morning air breezing in the windows (in a couple of hours I shall have to seal the place up to retain that environment through the hot bit).
