And another one finished!

A good weekend for finishing books ... today I got to the end of Brian Fagan's Floods, Famines, and Emperors (the updated tenth anniversary edition). An excellent companion to his The Little Ice Age, The Long Summer, and The Great Warming, this volume talks about ENZO events (El Niño and El Niña) and their global effects today and in the past, focusing on past cultures of of the Americas, Africa, and Asia. As usual with Fagan, loads of fascinating info in a relaxingly readable format.

And now I'm going to have to get hold of his newest book about Cro-Magnon (yes, that's "have to" ... Fagan is addictive reading)

Edited to add: Evil EVIL author! He has yet another book coming out at the end of this month: The First North Americans
