Bizarrely, it was a relief to me to find out that it WAS a bug; on Monday I had been wondering if what I was suffering was self-inflicted. This because that piece of brightly coloured knitting I posted on the weekend is made from recycled sari silk ... the leftover threads from weaving saris is collected from the looms and floors and handspun into a rather rustic "yarn". Neat stuff, but the downside is that it isn't necessarily the cleanest thing in the world ... my 2-skeins-worth smells quite musty and there's no telling what I might have disturbed and been inhaling from it as I knitted (on the plus side, I only had to pick a few bits of grain husk and dry grass out of it ... some folks have encountered dead insects and pieces of fingernail). However, despite the reassuring existence of several co-workers with symptoms matching mine, to be on the safe side I think I'll leave finishing that particular project until I can comfortably have the windows open ... just in case. Needless to say, it's getting a very thorough bath when it's done.
Me for lots of steamy hot blueberry tea tonight!
