Knitting progress

Socks always look so weird and not in the least related to footshaped when they're on the needles ... flat and angular, with weird knobbly bumps sticking out once the heel section is done. But oh, when they go onto the foot ... that's when all those things that looked like nothing in the human anatomy turn into 3D curves and perfect shapings. And I must say that this heel (the first time I've tried this style) is the most fabulous fit I've come across yet in my sock knitting adventures of the past couple of years ... like a comfy second skin, it is!

The yarn is proving next to impossible to photograph (the bottom photo with the sock-in-progress on my foot is the closest to reality). In RL the yarn's colours are vivid and saturated, even the palest tones, like an Impressionist watercolour ... it truly does contain everything seen in the iridescence of the Common Kingfisher. And, since it's Jitterbug, it feels (and shimmers) like satin.
