I can see the sun today! For the first time in what seems like aeons, it isn't raining and the sun is out!, although the sky is still pale grey rather than blue, but I ain't gonna quibble over such a minor detail (actually the sun did come out for a while last weekend, but, since I was doing enforced housework, I didn't get to enjoy the sight)

And by its light I can see that today is day one of the season the local allergy sufferers hate the most ... big fluffies are drifting off catkins hanging from the cottonwood tree outside and wafting through the air (and soon shall be piled up in snow-imitating drifts on the ground). I shall be surrounded by streaming red noses and hoarse croaky voices for the next few days.
