Because I haven't pimped Canuck stuff in a while ...

... and because a comment to libwitch reminded me and because the treasure trove of stuff available on the internet gets huger and huger by the minute ...

So just 'cause I adore 'em and miss 'em ... some classic Wayne and Shuster for you, courtesy of good ol' YouTube ...

Starting with the famous (and Ed Sullivan's very favourite from the record 54 times the team appeared on his show) "Rinse the Blood off My Toga" sketch. While a highlight video, with much sharper picture, has been available at here for ages, YouTube has the uncut, FULL version of this classic (well, mostly full ... there's a jump in pt. 3 that cuts out the chariot chase, but that bit's intact in the highlights version):

pt.1

pt.2

pt.3

And then there's Joe Garagiola's fave ... "The Shakespearean Baseball Game". Again, sharp-pictured highlights version here, but YouTube has the whole story:

Like your literature a little more modern? Then have a taste of "The Brown Pumpernickel":

pt.1

pt.2

Or zoom into the future on the Starship Frisbee with "Star Shtick":

pt.1

pt.2

pt.3

pt.4

And if you liked those, there's a bunch of other sketches by the same team in YouTube ... just search for the words wayne shuster (I especially recommend "City Golf" ... for those who were in Toronto in May 2003, you walked down some of those streets)
