Tales from today and versions of fairy tales that make Tanith Lee's seem like Disney. And then, of course, there's Annabelle herself, wondering whether she's the cause or merely a witness.
Definitely another must-read. Don't forget ... sometimes the monsters AREN'T the things lurking in the closet ...
UPDATE AND ADDITION:
More for your reading list ... volumes one and two of Lucifer's Garden of Verses ("The Devil on Fever Street" and "Darlin' Niki"), by Lance Tooks. Tales with unexpected twists, told with wonderful art and song; each volume is a unique story and style, so it's not necessary to read them in order ... just read whatever you can get your hands on. There are two more volumes (so far) in the series ... CPL doesn't have them yet, but I'm certainly planning on reading them when they're acquired.
If you can only read one volume, "The Devil on Fever Street" is the definite must-read of the first two ... what happens if the fallen angel Lucifer wants to repent, but God won't permit it? (P.S. watch for vol. 1 Beelzebub's and Belial's guest appearance as music tv hosts in vol. 2)
