Just ...

... popped the newly-arrived Ed Alleyne-Johnson CD into the player a few minutes ago and my brain is already melting into an auditory pool of bliss. It's like dark chocolate for the ears ...

UPDATE: ***HAPPY sigh*** Am now playing the CD for the second time ... this is GREAT! Just for perspective, this was "one of those days" at work, and the knowledge that this little item was waiting for me at the post office was probably the only thing that got me through it, so it had pretty high expectations to meet. And meet 'em and exceed 'em it did ... thank goodness. According to the liner notes, the tracks on Reflections are a tribute to the music that inspired Alleyne-Johnson during his teens in the 70s; he's performing Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and more, using a combination of 5-string electric fiddle, mandolin, bass, acoustic guitar, keyboards, and computer (playing all instruments himself, of course). Not so much "covers" of the tunes, but, in his own words "This is how I remember them." :-)

For those who were dithering over whether to buy (especially at hefty import prices), I say dither no more and crack open the Amazon account ... you deserve the auditory treat and we DO want to encourage their stocking the rest of his catalogue. We really do. :-)
