Signs and portents

Driving home from errand-running this afternoon, my horizon was filled with one of the most spectacular chinook arches I've ever seen ... usually they're much paler and often difficult to point out to the untrained eye. But if you can't see this one, 'tis time to RUN to the optometrist.

What does it signify and portend? That southern Alberta is going to experience a temperature climb in a day or two as the warm dry wind blows over us and evaporates the snow. :-)
