A fun evening out at The Comedy Cave (which is handily just down the street from me) ... 1st opener was bad (he had a couple of ignorant and insulting bits on Muslims in his routine and he was pretty much the only one laughing at them; his other stuff wasn't much better), but M.C. (Paul Kuster), 2nd opener (Dave somebody ... surname unfortunately escapes me, but he was bloody brilliant!) and headliner (Gavin Stephens) all did a great job. (The Cave very wisely has a nonsmoking show at 8:00 p.m. and then chases everybody out before the smokers' show starts at 10:30 p.m.)

Then off to the Cheesecake Cafe for coffee and cheesecake (well what else?) and much nattering, until we suddenly clue in that the reason we're starting to fade a bit is that it's midnight. So home again and out of my finery and now that the sugar high is leveling out, I'm off to bed.

See you in the morning!
