I'm about ...

... halfway through Daniel "Lemony Snicket" Handler's Adverbs and thought I'd save you all some time. Don't bother. I HAVE to finish reading it 'cause it's for work, but there's no reason for the rest of you to suffer. Stick with his Unfortunate Events series. (NOTE: I haven't read Handler's other adult works, so can't say whether they might be worth risking ... one would HOPE that they're not all like this one).

Reading one of these scenarios in an anthology would entertain, but a (seemingly endless) succession of them in one volume is just tedious. If you want an entertaining sequence of intersecting love stories, watch Love Actually. If you're intrigued by the concept of a horde of narrating characters, read Keith Hartman, 'cause he's the ONLY author who can do it and not have you continually flipping back in the book to try to figure out who the hell is who.
