Just finished ...

... first viewing of Fingersmith. WOW! Very faithful to the novel, with incredible performances (I'm used to seeing Imelda Staunton being perky and cute, which made her Mrs. Sucksby all the more impressive), sets, costumes, etc.

Now I'm sitting here wishing we could have all been watching it together, just 'cause last year's Tipping the Velvet viewing party was so much fun.

Am now in countdown mode for her new novel ... discovered today that Library of Congress has already assigned pre-publication subject headings, which means that they've already received plot information (their online catalogue is down at the moment, so I can't go back in and make an educated guess as to whether they received a copy of the publisher's galley or just some blurb info). :-)
