The Librarian

I'm really gonna have to live forever ...

... to knit all the things.

Remember that shawl I'm working on with the multi-coloured maple leaves? (which has been temporarily neglected of late because summer heat + pure wool laceweight yarn + really tiny needles = sweat + slippery hands = mistakes and possible self-stabbings (2mm solid steel pointy things can and will inflict a nasty wound)

The designer of that shawl just released this pattern: Suigo Sawara.

Oh-so-tempting because purple iris is one of my favourite flowers (the big ol' fashioned dark-coloured garden kind that look and feel like silk velvet and have a perfume so thick you can chew it)

And the to-read list gets longer ...

Finished watching series one of Grantchester last night. Now I have to read the original novels by James Runcie.

Series was, needless to say, absolutely wonderful. Characters with personalities and backstories and relationships that go far beyond the solving of mysteries. Impeccable performances and settings and costuming and the usual unique overall impression that the Brits actually use a working TARDIS to take the whole cast and crew to the correct period for whatever they're filming (helped by the fact that, according to the making-of documentary that they don't use any artificial sets ... all the interior scenes are shot inside real buildings/rooms)

Will definitely be grabbing the series 2 DVD when it's released.
