The Librarian

Just found out that Trevor Strong of The Arrogant Worms snuck a novel titled "Edgar Gets Going" into print last fall ... got it on order (via work) as of a few minutes ago. I really need to remember to check his non-Worms webpages more often. Have also discovered that all three of his books are now available as ebooks now, in a variety of formats, so if you want a little warped Canuck humour in your life you don't need to wait for international shipping. (I can vouch for his "Very Grimm Fairy Tales" being absolutely hilarious)

Phoned Mom this morning ...

... and finally remembered to thank her for "whatever you did in my childhood that innoculated me against cellphone addiction." Been meaning to do that one for a while. Though I doubt it's entirely parental influence since out of the four of us two are dependent on the electronic pacifier and two aren't. I actually had a pacifier-substitute theory about this very briefly, but none of us had one of those as an infant; Mom: "You all sucked your thumbs because your father and I wouldn't have to get up a hundred times a night to pick THOSE up off the floor and give them back to you."

Important part of all this being that I made her laugh ... always a fun thing to do for anybody. She still wants a "Thank you for being a mean mother" card though (she considers the lack of these a serious oversight in the greeting card industry). ;-p

For fellow atevi fans

Title confirmation for volume 16 of "Foreigner" ... it is going to be called "Tracker". Cherryh's been saying a for a while that it's been getting hard to come up with appropriate words that fit the 3-syllable pattern she originally established for the series so looks like she's finally given that up. For some reason she hasn't wanted to use "Babysitter" (frequently suggested for the last two volumes due to the birthday guests ***GRIN***)

I would guess from this title that somebody's going to be hunting down those rogue Guild members who escaped the "housecleaning".
