The Librarian

I actually DO know what I'm looking for ...

Dear designers of database/inventory searches and also the various businesses, libraries, and other enterprises that use 'em:

When I search for something, I only want to see results for THAT something. Or else be told quite plainly that it ain't in there. I do not want to have to go through a huge, randomly-ordered, unsortable-in-any-useful-way list of things that may possibly contain two or three of the same letters as the words I typed in on the off chance that what I'm after is in there somewhere.

The potential customer who just buggered off elsewhere to see if you had any competitors who actually cater to folks with more than two brain cells.
