New listening

Testbed Audio produces a ton of fascinating-sounding (and I do mean fascinating ... taking a peek is higly recommended) radio shows (mainly for the BBC) and podcasts, including the "Fry's English Delight" series I've been raving about. Some info about download purchase (and sample listening) for a few current shows, but for the rest we're on our own for hunting down availability (the various BBC Radio sites do provide download/CD purchase info for many of their programmes, so they're the best place to start checking if you see a Testbed show that you really want to hear).

Speaking of good British listening, along with the Fry CD, I also acquired the radio dramatization of Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and listened to it (multiple times) over the weekend ... 'twas very nicely done (and Harry Enfield is a wonderful Dirk Gently). Story slightly altered in places to make it more dialogue-ish, but, like Jackson's "Lord of the Rings", overall it's definitely The Tale in all its glory. And, addicted to good listening that I am, The Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul is on its way to me as I type this (along with season 2 of "Fry's English Delight"). I'm gonna have some seriously happy ears very soon. :-)
