The Librarian

The annual beaucoup d'loot

'twas the company's yearly Friends & Family sale tonight, with the majority of the stock at 45% off for staff and their invited guests. I have now made the coffee table to-read pile scarily high again by acquiring:

New Europe, by Michael Palin.

In the frame : my life in words and pictures, by Helen Mirren.

The middle class : a history, by Lawrence James.

Adventures in unhistory : conjectures on the factual foundations of several ancient legends, by Avram Davidson.

Empire of blue water : Captain Morgan's great pirate army, the epic battle for the Americas, and the catastrophe that ended the outlaws' bloody reign, by Stephan Talty.

Medicine River, by Thomas King (read and loved long ago, and decided 'twas about time I had a copy of my own ... now if only the brilliant and sidesplittingly funny tv movie version, starring Graham Greene, Tom Jackson, and Sheila Tousey would come out on DVD ***SIGH***)
