Something special for Canada Day

Today the Globe and Mail has printed a previously unpublished (and unknown ... see second link) essay by the great and glorious Stephen Leacock (the man responsible for deliberately writing that much-quoted sentence, "Lord Ronald said nothing; he flung himself from the room, flung himself upon his horse and rode madly off in all directions.")

Stephen Leacock's Hidden Treasure
How the story came to light

P.S. For those who've always wondered about that sentence, which I gather appears in a lot of books on English grammar/language, it can be found in a Leacock story titled "Gertrude the Governess", which was published in his book "Nonsense Novels" in 1911. It's still in print.
