The Librarian

Taking a break from the sewing machine

I've a finished butterfly satin vest (discontinued Simplicity 7321) hanging in my closet and have just finished clipping satin binding to the neckline of my long-sleeved Miyake top, which is complete except for edge finishing (easier to do the binding when the garment is finished). Mental note to self: next time, baste the underarm/sleeve seams in contrasting thread first, because the corners won't necessarily line up perfectly the first time! :P The joy of ripping out stitches made in a thread so perfectly matched as to be invisible was only topped by later sewing a PERFECT sleeve seam only to discover that the bobbin had run out about 10 cm before the end with the tricky corner matching. But now it's done, DONE, DONE (and looks great!)
