Alberta Election Results (for those who care)

The incumbent bigot is in for another term, but at least the Conservatives took some heavy losses this time 'round and they no longer have a majority. Any progress counts! :-)

P.S. I call Ralph Klein the "imcumbent bigot" because, when Canada's federal government started giving serious consideration to same-sex marriage legislation, he announced that he would use Alberta's "notwithstanding clause" to ensure that it didn't happen in HIS province. Kiss of death as far as my little "x" on the ballot is concerned. (yes, up here in the back of beyond, we still use a pencil to mark an "x" next to a candidate's name ... system works just fine ***grin***)

Consciously or unconsciously, people condense a multitude of meaning into it. They project their personality into it - who they are, who they wish to be, what they fear, what moves them.
