The Librarian

What a lovely feeling ... the first long weekend of 2004 (for Canada, anyway) ... sleeping in (until 7:15!!!!!!) felt absolutely decadent. General vote at work this week is that Daylight Savings Time should be abolished (on the grounds that it constitutes abuse) and that all employees should provide naptime after lunch (especially on pizza day). The Cataloguing and Processing Departments would also be thrilled if the cleaners vacuumed our areas more than once a year, but we figure that would be pushing our luck. :P

Now that the weather has finally turned somewhat springlike, a group of us have been going for a quick 15-minute walk around the neighbourhood for our afternoon break instead of sitting in the staffroom drinking coffee ... feels SO good! Grass is showing signs of green, crocuses are blooming (hey, this is the Great White ... this is the NORMAL time for crocuses up here), tulips, daffodils and other bulbs are poking above ground, and I can see out my window that today there are the beginnings of pale green tree leaves where yesterday there were only buds. I do believe the blink-and-you'll-miss-it season of SPRING has begun!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Wales & Mackinlay (so far, only a promise of a new Web site coming soon, but the magazine ad claims "We are New Zealand's largest Chinese silk importers")
Chocolate Coated
Logan's Fabrics
RJR Fashion Fabrics
Textile Traders
