The Librarian

A different point of view

Not in the same category as the photo gallery that anotheranon posted recently, but Ricardo Gil's site is worth looking at. According to the interview I'm reading (and which led me to the site), he intends his pictures primarily for his daughter, Lily. "And I thought it was significant and important to document my family, not just for myself, but for my daughter, as a legacy to her, so that when we're old and she's a grown woman, she can look back at these photographs and come to a different understanding than when she was a child."

The book containing the interview, BTW, is "Little people : learning to see the world through my daughter's eyes" by Dan Kennedy (whose ten-year-old daughter was born with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism) ... a most fascinating and insightful read.
