Ugghhh!!!!!! - The Bibliophile
Too busy reading most likely ...
We're supposed to hit a high temp of 28 tomorrow. That's PLUS 28C! In April. In Calgary.

This is a billion, zillion flavours of WRONG!!! And the fact that I haven't damaged any of the people who keep joyfully saying how wonderful it is that the weather is so "nice" is one serious miracle. (well, the last one was my assistant who is allowed to live because she's essential to my survival, and aside from this remark, usually pretty good at keeping me able to project the illusion of sanity)

P.S. Just to clarify the point of this little outburst, the "normal" high temperature in this area at this time of year is in the 10C to 13C range with overnight lows around freezing.

We're supposed to get multiple days of rain and dropping temperatures starting Friday, thank goodness (especially for the rain) ... must be some of yours is going to blow over the Arctic to us. :-)

It just boggles my mind that people who've lived here most or all of their lives STILL don't get that all the domestic and agricultural water (lots of irrigation farming here) in this area comes from snowmelt off the Rockies. We had virtually no winter and the mountain peaks do not have snowcaps, just a few scattered vertical streaks that are in spots the east and overhead sun don't hit. Those aren't going to last long and early unseasonal heat doesn't help the situation.

And I don't want to listen to these same people whining if we end up under boil water/water rationing orders and food prices have tripled because the local crops aren't doing too well.
