Got something SQUEE-worthy at work today

Captain in Calico by George MacDonald Fraser!!!

The original publisher-supplied description we were given implied it was a sequel to "The Pyrates" ... turns out it's actually Fraser's very first novel, turned down by every publisher he submitted it to and eventually stashed in his safe to be found by his children after his death**. Looking forward to this first incarnation of his fictitious versions of Calico Jack Rackham and Anne Bonney. :-)

**In the intro 'tis mentioned that they "thought long and hard before allowing it to be published" ... they've finally did it as a curiosity and piece of history for Fraser's fans with no claims of it being of the same standard as his published work. I figure Fraser's mediocre is equal to many other writers' best so pretty sure I'll enjoy it. :-)
