This isn't quite what we meant by free trade ... - The Bibliophile

Today instead of smoke from our own fires, Calgary is under a pall blown up here from the Washington fires instead (presumably waved through by Customs). Thick and eye/throat-drying, casting a brownish yellow light over everything and basically negating all the air-cleaning good that Friday and Saturday's rain had accomplished. Supposed to be like this all day tomorrow too (along with being quite a bit hotter). Just glad I remembered to close all the windows before I went to work this morning ... at least it still smells somewhat rainclean in here.

On the cheery side, there were pretty Indigodragonfly yarns in my mailbox tonight. But piccies will have to wait until the sky clears ... any attempt at photographing them in this light will just make them look nicotine-yellowed.

Yeah, we've had haziness and smoke smell from far away fires here too, Saturday was rather terrible that way, I believe that was from the California ones.

Considering what it's like here right now I'm sure you've got it much worse than we do since you're so much closer to the two major fire zones. We have to find a way to point some rain clouds where they're really needed.
