Another lazy morning ... - The Bibliophile
Too busy reading most likely ...
Another lazy morning ...
Today is Victoria Day, so a long weekend for Canadians. Woke early this morning so have been sipping chocolate cappucino acquired from one of the local Polish grocery stores (they both stock the delicious stuff and I forget which I bought this batch at) while going through my new Good Reads account to flag all the Canadian-authored books I own. Which, of course has led to my manually adding many titles and editions not in there ... mainly down to my having discovered, and developed a passion for, several quirky Canadian columnists and essayists in my high school library during my years and then tracking down and buying my own copies of their out-of-print collected works in various used book stores once I had a pay cheque of my own to spend on them. A dangerous project this ... so far it's led to my copy of Pierre Berton's Fast Fast Fast Relief now sitting on my couch to be re-read, along with Max Braithwaite's autobiographical trilogy; most people have heard of Why Shoot the Teacher (which should not have a question mark at the end because it's a statement of action to be taken, not a question) because it was made into a movie, but it's actually the third volume, the others being Never Sleep Three in a Bed and The Night We Stole the Mountie's Car. Plus it's also been far too long since I've wandered a depopulated continent with The Last Canadian so that goes on the re-read pile as well.

Ah well, guess I'll just have to give up some housework to accommodate these ... oh woe! ;p
