From an afterwork expedition to the most local of the local yarn shops last night. From left to right: two skeins Malabrigo Sock (100% Merino) in "Zarzamora" colourway, two skeins Malabrigo Rios (100% Merino) in "Volcan" and "Glazed Carrot" colourways, one skein Manos del Uruguay Fino (70% Merino, 30% Silk) in "Inkwell" colourway. Perched on top: one Schoppel-Wolle Crazy Zauberball in "Papagei" colourway.


Trying to decide whether to use the Malabrigo Sock or the Fino to make Josh Ryks' Steelcity. Couldn't make up my mind in the store so that's why I ended up with both (knowing I'd easily find another use for the "loser"). Both are grey but the Malabrigo has obvious green and purple undertones glowing through while the Fino has more subtle blueish-to-lavender tonal shadings. Decisions, decisions ...
