P.S. Started reading my copy of The Hidden last night ... it is marvelous! The Inuktitut glossary is a story in itself, letting the reader see the linguistic connections between the names of beings, places, and regular vocabulary ("amauti": a woman's parka with a pouch for carrying babies or young children. "amautaliit": a race of ogresses that catch people and carry them away in huge pouches in their jackets)
