'tis the season ...

... when publishers suddenly start releasing books instead of just promoting them. Which means titles that were ordered ages ago from prepublication announcements are now showing up in our warehouse. And that, in turn, means an occasional treat is going to show up on my desk (or, in this case, get handed to me as I take a shortcut through Clearing get from my own department to elsewhere). Today's shiny new addition to my nevershrinking to-read pile: Arturo Pérez-Reverte's newest translated-into-English novel, The Siege. Looks wonderful! (but then all his books are)
