Halfway through Paul Cornell's London Falling right now. This is GOOD!!! It's dark and gritty and grimy and London street copper. Reminiscent of "Cracker", "Touching Evil", R.D. Wingfield's Jack Frost novels and Mercedes Lackey's Diana Tregarde trilogy, but with a unique flavour all its own. Provided the second half lives up to the promise of the first ... and there's no reason to think it won't ... then the sequel, The Severed Streets, is most definitely going on the to-buy/to-read list.

Edited to add: All done! One helluva plot twist that came right out of the blue and yet fit so perfectly! And now I have to wait until MAY for the next volume!!! ***grumblegrumblegrumblegrumblegrumble*** (ah well, at least the author's Killable, also a "next volume," is out in three weeks, so I get a Cornell fix soon even if it is with different characters)
