Another "Foreigner" moment

From "Defender" (volume five):
"Did you tell the dowager she's a bitch?"
"Bastard, ma'am, and she called you one."
"Good, we understand each other."

Actually it's the way Bren translates bastard, which has no equivalent word (or concept) in Ragi, that really cracks me up ... diplomacy at its finest. XD
